European market integration

The integration of the European energy market is taking shape. Each day, the various initiatives of Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Power Exchanges (PX) are moving towards one Internal European Market. At this stage, the projects are becoming more intertwined. This leads to even more complexity in governing these cross-border and cross-organization projects.

Our services

Magnus Red has more than ten years experience in leading cross-border market integration and harmonization projects. One of these projects is the prominent CWE project. We also support market integration initiatives such as CORE, CEE, CMGB, and DAT. We work with 26 TSOs and power exchanges on a daily basis. Our role is to ensure that that common goals are met. Magnus Red takes on a neutral position in these projects. We consider the stakes of all parties involved, whilst creating coherence in projects and activities across Europe. We bring a truly unique seniority in managing to cross-border consortia.

Magnus Red’s team of experts has comprehensive know-how of the European electricity market and of TSOs in particular. We have in-depth knowledge of Capacity Calculation methods and processes (explicit and implicit, ATC and Flow-Based) as well as the IT software, hardware and infrastructure used by TSOs in the European environment. We have ample experience in methodological, financial, legal and regulatory topics, including market acceptance issues. We combine this know-how with our own business diplomacy approach: creating consensus and working towards commonly accepted solutions.
